Ted Ligety (USA) was untouchable once again and dominated the rest of the field, winning by a margin of 1.76 seconds.

Matteo Marsaglia Wins the Super-G

Italy's Matteo Marsaglia won today's 2012 Men's Super-G race at Beaver Creek.  Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR) placed second.  Top ranking U.S. skier, Ted Ligety placed fourth.

Christof Innerhofer wins the 2012 Men's Downhill

Christof Innerhofer (ITA) won today's 2012 Men's Downhill on the Birds of Prey Course at Beaver Creek.  Americans Travis Ganong and Marco Sullivan finished 16th and 18th respectively.

Svindal Fastest in Third Downhill Training

Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR)

Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR) posted the fastest time in today's third Men's Downhill training run on the Birds of Prey course Beaver Creek.  Travis Ganong (USA), who was fastest yesterday, posted a very respectable fourth best time.  Reining champ Klaus Kroell (AUT) was fifth.

U.S. racer Travis Ganong started today's Downhill training run with the number one bib, and posted the fastest time of the day with it.

The race course is ultra-fast this year as his time of 1:41.38 would indicate.  Said Travis:  “You can do whatever you want.  You can really charge if you want or set up if you want, it's really forgiving.  It's extremely fast this year, the fastest in my four years of coming here."

Defending World Cup downhill champion Klaus Kroell (AUT) took today's first training run on the Birds of Prey course. Max Franz (AUT) was second with Italy's Christof Innerhofer coming third.

Travis Ganong and Marco Sullivan were the fasted US skiers.

What a year 2011 was!  Lindsay Vonn won the historic, inaugural "Chicks of Prey" Women's Super G race. 

Ted Ligety and Marcel Hirscher dualed in Giant Slalom races, each winning one.  And Bode Miller reigned supreme, winning the Men's Downhill race.      DOWNLOAD HERE (pdf).
